Aid after the earthquake
In the wake of a devastating earthquake on 29 December that involved multiple deaths and the destruction of approximately 3,000 homes and buildings, residents of Petrinja and Glina (in the Banija region) remain in dire conditions, some living and sleeping in the freezing cold. This photo project documents some of the important aid efforts currently ongoing to help the victims of this natural disaster.
In the Živaja village, where residents do not wish to relocate because their livestock (their primary source of income) is here, the Deronja family receives a donated new home from the “Solidarna” Foundation. Through portraits and reportage of daily life, these photos shed light on these impactful stories of suffering and survival.
